📏 Where Super HD+WR Sits in the Motherwood Range

Super HD+WR is Motherwood's HDHMR grade — high density plus water resistance — and it is the board to specify for the sink run, the bathroom vanity and tall wardrobes in humid rooms. It resists swelling far better than standard MDF, and its density gives better screw holding for the hinges and runners modular furniture depends on.

Rajkot stock covers seven thicknesses: 3mm, 5.5mm, 7.5mm, 11mm, 16.75mm, 18mm and 25mm, all in 8x4 ft sheets. 18mm is the usual carcass thickness and 25mm suits worktops and heavy shutters.

The board runs at a density above 850 kg/m³ and is manufactured to IS 12406, the Indian Standard for medium density fibreboard. That density is what gives it the screw holding modular hardware needs, and it is the figure to quote on a tender against a standard MDF substitute.

Water resistance is not the same as waterproof. Every cut edge needs sealing before the unit is installed, and a position taking direct rain or standing water calls for marine plywood, not MDF of any grade. Compare the full range on the Motherwood brand page.

Indicative rate band. As a broad reference across the whole range, MDF and HDHMR run about ₹1–500 per square foot. That span covers everything from the thinnest commercial board to the heaviest premium one, so treat it as a sanity check on a budget rather than a quotation — where your job lands inside it depends on the brand, thickness and grade you actually need.
