Where is Mahadev Traders in Rajkot, and when are you open?

Our office is on Gondal Road near the S.T. Workshop, in Panchsheel Park, Samrat Industrial Area, Rajkot 360004. The warehouse is a few minutes away in the same area, near Mavani Engineering Works and Poojara Telecom. We are open Monday to Saturday from 9:00 am to 7:30 pm and on Sunday from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm. Do you sell to home owners, or only to the trade?

Both. There is no minimum order: one sheet, one door or a full truck load are all normal orders. Carpenters and contractors buying regularly get trade rates, and a home owner can take a single sheet to check it against the job before ordering the rest.

Which plywood should I use for a kitchen?

Use 100% BWP marine plywood to IS 710 for base cabinets, the sink unit and anything that will see water or steam. MR grade plywood is fine for dry wardrobes, beds and TV units. For carcasses 18mm is the working thickness, and 6mm is enough for back panels.

What is the difference between BWP and BWR plywood?

BWP (Boiling Water Proof) is the higher grade. BWP plywood is bonded to withstand prolonged exposure to water and is the grade for kitchens and bathrooms, while BWR (Boiling Water Resistant) suits areas with only mild humidity. We supply BWP marine plywood and BWP flush doors for wet areas.

What is MDF and how is it different from plywood?

MDF (Medium Density Fibreboard) is made from wood fibres bonded with resin under heat and pressure. Unlike plywood it has a smooth, uniform surface with no grain or knots, which makes it ideal for painting, routing and precision shutters, while plywood is stronger for load-bearing carcasses. Motherwood grades run, from entry to top: Interior, Exterior, Super HD+WR (HDHMR) and TerBo+. Compare them on the Motherwood MDF page .

What is HDHMR, and what is Super HD+WR?

HDHMR stands for High Density High Moisture Resistant board, a denser, more moisture-resistant category of fibreboard. Motherwood's Super HD+WR is an HDHMR-grade board, stocked in 3, 5.5, 7.5, 11, 16.75, 18 and 25mm (8x4 ft), and suits kitchen shutters, bathroom vanities and humid interiors. What is TerBo+ MDF, and what does Boilo mean?

TerBo+ is Motherwood's highest-density MDF, stocked in 3, 5.5, 8, 12 and 18mm. Its name spells out what it does: termite proof and boiling water proof. Boilo is the general trade name for the highest-density grade of MDF, and TerBo+ is Motherwood's board in that grade, which is why it is used for CNC-profiled shutters and demanding, humid positions.

What flush door sizes do you stock?

Flush doors in 25, 30 and 35mm thickness, in heights from 72 to 96 inches and widths from 24 to 48 inches. MR grade doors suit bedrooms and other dry rooms; 100% BWP doors are for bathrooms and wet areas. Stock is from Marllex and Simson.

Do you deliver outside Rajkot?

Yes. We dispatch from our Gondal Road warehouse to Morbi, Jamnagar, Junagadh, Ahmedabad, Surat, Vadodara and across Gujarat. Freight depends on the route, the load and the timing, so it is quoted with the order; free delivery is available on select orders.

Plywood

MR (semi-waterproof) and 100% BWP / IS 710 marine plywood in 6, 9, 12, 15 and 18mm, sheets from 6x3 to 8x4 ft. Marllex, Zevik, Limelite and Greytone.

Block Board

Gurjan-face block board on a pinewood core in 19 and 25mm, sheets from 6x3 to 8x4 ft, from Marllex and Simson, plus poplar and BWP cores for lighter or wetter jobs.

Flush Doors

Flush doors in 25, 30 and 35mm, heights 72 to 96 in and widths 24 to 48 in, in MR and 100% BWP grades from Marllex and Simson.

MDF & HDHMR

Authorised Motherwood stock: TerBo+, Super HD+WR (HDHMR) and Exterior grade MDF from 3 to 25mm in 8x4 ft sheets, plus prelam MDF and six other MDF brands.

Laminates

Which Grade for Which Room?

How much water a board will see decides the grade it needs. Pick a room to see the board we would put there — and why.

Same water, different bond. MR plywood is bonded for everyday humidity; BWP is phenol-bonded to take standing water without the plies letting go.

Water exposure: low

Bedrooms, living rooms and wardrobes

Use MR grade plywood, block board and flush doors.

Dry rooms only see everyday humidity, so moisture-resistant (MR, IS 303) bonding is enough — and it costs less than BWP. Spend the difference on thickness where it matters: 18mm for carcasses and shelves that carry load.

Water exposure: high — steam, splashes, the sink

Modular kitchens

Use BWP / IS 710 plywood below the counter, HDHMR for shutters.

Steam and splashes reach the carcass every day, and the sink unit gets standing water. Build base units and the sink cabinet from 100% BWP marine plywood to IS 710; for shutters, Motherwood Super HD+WR (HDHMR) takes laminate or paint and resists moisture. MR grade is only for tall units away from the hob and sink.

Water exposure: direct — splashing and standing water

Bathrooms and wet areas

Use 100% BWP flush doors and BWP block board.

A bathroom door is splashed and steamed every day; an MR door's core swells and its skin lifts. Fit a 100% BWP (phenol-bonded) flush door, seal every edge including the bottom, and build vanities from BWP block board or marine plywood.

Water exposure: high — monsoon humidity, wind-driven rain

Use BWP marine plywood, HDHMR or Boilo grade MDF.

Monsoon humidity and wind-driven rain reach covered balconies and verandas. Use BWP / IS 710 marine plywood for furniture. For MDF, Super HD+WR (HDHMR) suits covered balconies and verandas, and TerBo+, the Boilo grade, is the first choice for truly open spaces such as gardens and exterior cladding.
